Big Now Account Restrictions

All accounts that sign up with BigNow agree to the following restrictions:

Support assistance: All customer support must be via the BigNow e-mail addresses of support@bignow.com or via the support webinterface form on http://www.bignow.com. There is no telephone support available. Internet Partners Inc. cannot answer support calls for BigNow. BigNow will attempt to answer all customer queries within 24 hours but in some cases may take up to 4 calendar days to respond.

Billing: All billling is due in advance, whether pre-paid or credit card. Accounts prepaid by cash or check must pay for at least 6 months at a time. Refunds are NOT available for early termination unless 30 day advance notice is given. Credit cards are charged in advance monthly. No discounts except where noted. Accounts in arrears will be subject to immediate disconnection. Bills are issued by Internet Partners Inc. and payments must be made to Internet Partners Inc. Internet Partners, Inc. will contact you on receipt of a signup request to obtain credit and billing information. Checks written to BigNow will be returned. Unless specifically directed by Internet Partners Inc, checks written for amounts under the billing minimum of 6 months will be returned and the account will be considered unpaid. All account questions must be directed to Internet Partners Inc, BigNow cannot answer billing questions. BigNow cannot intercede in customer billing disputes with Internet Partners Inc.

Backups: All customers are required to maintain their own backups of their site. In the event of catastrophic server failure resulting in customer data loss BigNow's liability is only limited to credit of hosting charges for the month. BigNow specifically disclaims liability for customer data integrity for any data stored on the customer website acccounts.

Domain Names: The Free Domain Name Transfer offer for Super Size Site accounts is limited to domains that meet the following criteria:

  1. The domain name must be owned by the account
  2. Domains registered with Network Solutions that have valid contact information
  3. Domains registered with an alternate registry where account logins are available

In addition, the account must maintain service for a minimum of 6 months AFTER the transfer has been completed. If the domain name does not meet the criteria then a charge of $50 is assessed. An additional $50 charge per domain name is assessed if special research is required for the transfer to occur, this includes but is not limited to Change of Registries, FAX submittal, and restoration of missing Registry passwords. Only ONE domain name per account is permitted. The Domain Name nameservers are hosted by Internet Partners Inc.

Data Transfer: The maximum data transfer of 1GB or 2GB per month is burst data transfer only, in both directions. Accounts are prohibited from continuous transfers such as successive ftp transfers by a single client. The transfers must also be spread over the entire month.

Spamming: Under no circumstances are accounts permitted to advertise their websites in UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email, aka Spam) even if such UCE originates elsewhere. In the event that an account is caught doing this, it will be immediately terminated, forfeit any credit, and the accountholder may be subject to prosecution under applicable law.

Logfile access: Big Site accounts get Error logfiles only . Super Size Site accounts get both Error and Access logfiles as well as website statistics reports.

CGI and SSH: Big Site accounts do not get CGI except for mailto.pl Super Size Sites get a personal CGI directory where any CGI is allowed that does not adversely affect operation of the server. Super Size Site accounts must supply their own CGI. Telnet access to the server is not allowed. SSH access is only permitted to Super Size Site accounts, a free Windows implementation of SSH is located here http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/.

Uptime guarantee for Big Site accounts: In the event of system downtime exceeding 5% of the month, (approximately 36 hours) upon request BigNow will credit the account 1 month of service. Downtime caused by network events is excluded.

Uptime guarantee for Super Size Site accounts: In the event of system downtime exceeding .05% of the month (approximately 5 hours) upon request BigNow will credit the account 1 month of service. Downtime caused by network events is excluded.

Satisfaction Guarantee: Customers that close their account during the first month of service due to dissatisfaction of BigNow hosting are entitled to a full refund of their advance payment. Customers that close their account after the first month due to dissatisfaction of BigNow are entitled to a refund if the closure is prompted by BigNow making a change in account terms.

SSL: Commercially-signed SSL certificates are NOT permitted on BigNow, see Internet Partners Inc. for commercial SSL. BigNow customers that wish to run SSL may request a self-signed certificate from support@bignow.com.
